Big news for Audible fans. Audiobook production for my first novel, The Next Best Thing, began this week. To produce an audiobook that meets the rigid Audible standards takes time. You’ll be able to download and listen to The Next Best Thing in late summer.
I chose an awesome narrator. His name is Garrett Michael Brown. Narrators work remotely so I could have gone with anyone anywhere in the world. Garrett, though, happens to be a Seattle resident himself. Small world.
Let me tell you, friends, it’s going to be spectacular!
Garrett finished the first 15 minutes of the book for me to listen to and approve. The characters came alive in his reading. It blew me away! I can hardly wait to listen to my entire story read by such a gifted narrator.
Garrett is a long-time community theatre actor and former local chef. He took the plunge into book narration earlier this year and is already building a solid reputation for himself.
As you might know, I’m an Audible fanatic. I listen to between 60 and 80 books a year. To me, the narrator is as important to an audiobook’s success as the author. When I’m picking out what to listen to myself, I shop narrators as often as I shop authors.
I’ll let you know when you can order The Next Best Thing at Audible.
